VTC establishes the first MPEG4-H264 IPTV service over the Internet

VTC implements IPTV media streaming over the Internet.

In 11/28/2003, VTC implements the IPTV streaming system over the Internet. MPEG4 H.264, the currenly most modern encoder, was used in the system.

Broadband users can access the system, to watch TV channel, you should have:

  • WinMedia Player, RealOne Player or QuickTime Viewer
  • MPEG-4 H264 plugins

The system streams 4 TV channels, VTV1, VTV3, VTV4 and HTV. Beside live TV service , VTC also provides TV on demands service. In the first 30 days from the beginning 90 thoundsands oversea Vietnamese people surf and watch the TV channels. The quality is good, but it also depends on the quality of the Internet infrastructure
