Migrate Billing and Customer Care systems for VMS

From April to June 2005, billing and customer care systems of Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company (VMS) was upgraded. Databases of these systems were migrated successfully to new servers.

For better operations and services for customer, VMS has decided to migrate billing and customer care database servers in all 3 centers: Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

These are among the largest and most sophisticated databases in Vietnam with hundreds millions records a day. Databases are distributed on servers over 3 areas.

The biggest challenge of the job is migrating each database completely with hundreds of gigabytes of data in only 8 hours at night. After that time, the database must be available for all applications to connect to and run smoothly as usual.

All the databases are migrated from Oracle 8i running on Linux to Oracle 9i running on Sun Solaris with Sun Sparc chipset.

Hyperlogy has prepared and migrated successfully all the databases in all 3 VMS centers without any record lost.
